Connecting Sources

Connecting sources to Elements

Media and data sources are plentiful in modern sporting and broadcast environments. From high-quality video and powerful data sensors to abundant options in audio and post-analysis, the opportunities for producing a deeper and more compelling context and content are ever-growing.

It is common that sources are not structured in a standard way, they arrive at different times and they have varying bandwidth requirements. Integrating multiple sources takes a lot of time and effort and includes many challenges and pitfalls. We know these challenges too and solving them is at the core of how Elements is designed.

BGN Elements supports many different tried-and-tested data sources through our connectivity interfaces including:

  • Live broadcast media via SDI

  • IP media streams via RTP Multicast and RTSP + more

  • Files with integration to existing systems

  • Real-time streaming events i.e. JSON, XML, Avro, etc.

  • REST API calls to support custom or legacy formats

Our long heritage in high-end networking for some of the world's most demanding live sports is baked into the DNA of BGN Elements. We can support sources in private network environments or in the cloud, and everywhere in between. If you’ve got it, BGN Elements can receive it.
